The Rally This major date in our dairies and was a great day! We set off at half 7 with all of our cookery, design board and a life size paper masher bull!! Members had done a lot of preparation work for a lot of the events including Faye Johnson, Nicola Bolton and many others. We won a number of events, and we did especially well in the industrial section as we won 7 competitions and the cup for the most points. Nicola Jameson, competed in seven events all of which she did well in, she was superb in the eating competition along with Michel Barret! Also Michael Barret did well as he competed in several competitions he got 3 first and a second. Many people won there events and were prepared to fill in on the day and help out where possible, both before and during the day. We won the cup Awarded for a traditional skill that was won by Nick Walton, James (spud) Raine, and John Murray. In the Sports cup we came second, and also in the second with the stock judging. I think the highlight of the day was when Haltwhistle won both the Tug of War Cups. Thanks to Tom for helping us get to the standard that we did. Martin woodman won all the events that he competed in, and managed to win the Motag cup for the tractor handling. We went to the Anchor at Haydon Bridge for some food and more dinks before heading back to the farm for the dance. A well organised and fun day and night, with plenty of fun. Over all a great day, and thanks to Whitley chapel for having a good rally this year we are looking forward to next years already!!
